The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo is a 2007 documentary film directed by Lisa F. Jackson concerned with survivors of rape in the regions affected by ongoing conflicts stemming from the Second Congo War. Central to the film are moving interviews with the survivors themselves, as well as interviews with self-confessed rapist soldiers. The Greatest Silence was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize and won a Special Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.

The movie Girl Rising was produced by Kayce Freed, Tom Yellin and Holly Gordon at The Documentary Group in partnership with Paul G. Allen and Jody Allen of Vulcan Productions.[2] It was directed by Academy Award nominee Richard E. Robbins. The movie tells the stories of nine girls from nine countries: (Sierra Leone, Haiti, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Peru, Egypt, Nepal, India and Cambodia).[4] Each girl had her story written by a writer from her country and voiced by renowned actors.

A documentary about Tariq Jahan, whose son Haroon was killed in the 2011 Birmingham riots. Hours after his son's death Tariq pleaded with angry crowds; "I've lost my son. Step forward if you want to loose yours. Otherwise, go home." The mood was transformed, the crowds dispersed and Tariq became a national hero. In Dreams of Dutiful Daughters, filmmaker Ma Khin Mar Mar Kyi, a social and visual anthropologist based at the ANU presents moving first-person accounts of nine young girls from Burma who have migrated to work in Thailand. The subtitled film derives much of its power from the testimonies of the girls, who speak with heartbreakingly eloquent words to paint a picture of an unfamiliar reality that is, by turns, ugly, powerful and startlingly beautiful.
